BS 8549 is the British Standards that specifies the:
- management;
- operation;
- staffing.
for the provision of contracted security consultancy services.
Additionally, this code might assist those who wish to contract the services of a security consultant.
BS 8549 supersedes PAS49:2002, which is withdrawn.
It was developed by the Association of Security Consultants in the UK (of which BCRM – the parent company of FCL – is a member and complies with its code of conduct) and covers:
- consultancy personnel;
- consultancy services;
- the consultancy.
